Driveway for Residential Units

Driveway for Residential Units

APC recently completed a residential unit driveways project, putting our permeable concrete expertise to work on a multi-dwelling site where durability and kerb appeal both mattered. As driveway specialists, we built a surface that handles daily traffic from multiple households while managing stormwater properly and cutting down on maintenance.

What Makes Residential Unit Driveways Different

Residential unit driveways see more traffic than a typical single-home driveway, and they often share space with landscaping, pedestrian paths and communal areas. That's why this project needed a driveway design tailored to the property's layout and use, not a one-size-fits-all pour.

The finished surface uses Ultracon, our advanced permeable concrete product, engineered for strength and long-term resilience. Because it's permeable, water drains through the surface rather than pooling or running off, which keeps the driveway safer to use and reduces the strain on stormwater systems.

Design and Finish

We chose a dark grey Ultracon finish to suit the modern architecture on site, then worked landscaping in around the driveway edges to soften the hardscape and add function to the shared spaces. The result:

  • A durable, permeable surface built for regular multi-household use
  • A sleek, dark grey finish that suits contemporary building styles
  • Reduced water pooling and lower long-term maintenance
  • Landscaping integrated around the driveway for a tidier finish

This project is a good example of how we approach residential unit driveways: start with the practical demands of a shared property, then match the finish and layout to the building.
