This permeable concrete car park was built for a commercial housing development, showing how APC delivers durable, good-looking surfaces for high-traffic parking areas. The finished car park pairs practical function with a clean, modern look that suits the building it sits alongside.

APC designed and installed the car park to handle constant vehicle movement without cutting corners on appearance. The dark grey permeable concrete surface was chosen to match the contemporary, industrial style of the building, giving the whole property a cohesive finish that works for residents and visitors alike.

We used Ultracon technology in the mix, which gives the surface real strength and resilience under repeated loads. That means less cracking, less resurfacing, and a car park that keeps performing with minimal upkeep.

Water Management and Layout

Permeable concrete is at the core of the design. Rainwater filters straight through the surface instead of pooling or running off into stormwater drains, which helps manage water on site and supports better outcomes for the surrounding landscaping.

Layout mattered as much as materials. We planned:

• Clear line marking for each parking bay
• Bollards positioned to guide traffic safely
• Generous spacing between bays for easy manoeuvring
