Wa-Karroong

Wa-Karroong

Permeable concrete Geelong work doesn't come with much more meaning than this project. APC recently completed works in partnership with many local Australian businesses, taking part in what has become an amazing project for the region.

A Permeable Concrete Geelong Project With a Bigger Purpose

What began as a conversation has now become a completed home for Wathaurong Aboriginal Co-Operative, known as Wa-Karroong. It was built through collaboration, cultural guidance, generosity and shared purpose, and it stands as one of the more significant permeable concrete Geelong projects APC has been part of.

This wasn't a job APC carried out alone. The project brought together a wide network of people and organisations, all giving their time, resources and expertise so the site could handle water properly while supporting the needs of the co-operative and the wider community.

Who Was Involved

Delivering a project of this scale took real coordination across trades and disciplines. Contributors included:

  • Community members and Traditional Owners, who provided cultural guidance throughout
  • Government representatives, supporting the project's goals
  • Suppliers and manufacturers, providing materials and product
  • Trades and builders, delivering the on-site work
  • Designers, shaping the finished outcome
  • Supporters, contributing time and resources beyond their formal roles

Every one of these groups had a hand in creating something far greater than a house. It's the kind of collaborative build that reminds us why we do this work: not just laying a surface, but helping build a home with genuine cultural and community value behind it.
