Our story
The Permcon Story
Since 2018 we've supplied our own permeable concrete and laid it ourselves, on driveways, car parks, shared paths and sports courts, with a team now in every state.
Where the Permcon story starts
We worked the mix out with Boral Concrete's mix-design team, and it became Permcon. The margin is small. Starve the stone of paste and the slab gives up strength; overdo it and the paste fills the voids, so rain pools on top the way it would on any sealed driveway. No fines is a much lower quality product and shouldn't be used in the same areas as what Permcon is, due to its lack of strength. We supply the mix and place it with our own crews. If a slab fails structurally inside the 10-year warranty (terms and conditions apply), we assess the area and replace the slab.
Out of every state, and overseas
There's Permcon in Italy and the USA. We've also poured in New Zealand and the Pacific Islands, and there's a team set up in every Australian state; some of those jobs are on our projects page. The work also includes the roads inside caravan parks. Our own crews still do the placing. Heavier traffic is handled with thickness rather than a stronger mix: 125 mm covers almost every application, and larger car parks go a little thicker for the vehicles on them. More than 100,000 m² is in the ground now. We hold ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certification, and we're members of Master Builders Victoria. Early Learning Centre, Warwick
A council job in Warwick: light-coloured Ultracon poured around an Early Learning Centre's existing cubby houses, sandstone blocks and garden beds to make a permeable play area.
