Large Scale Commercial Project

Built for the traffic it actually gets
Rain doesn't sit on this site anymore. Trucks come and go all day, staff and visitors cross on foot, and until the pour went in, storm water had nowhere to go but across the surface. The client wanted a pavement that would take the traffic, keep its finish clean and stop that rain lying about after a downpour. Poured across the whole site, this is large-scale commercial permeable concrete: Permcon, doing the job of two products at once, a trafficable surface and a drainage layer.
Large-scale commercial permeable concrete, planned with the client
Every job this size starts with questions, not concrete. Where vehicles come in. Where people cross. How the different areas of the site join up, and what the owner wanted it to look like. Those answers set the installation method and the drainage detail for each zone, and the work went in one area at a time. Underneath, it's the usual order: the ground dug out, then a base of clean screenings before any truck of Permcon arrives. Nobody sees that base again, but it's doing most of the work. Every storm passes through the wearing surface and waits there until the ground can take it. A crew moving at pace can lay 500 m² and more between the first truck and knock-off, which matters on a site this size.
Looks that last under traffic
Performance wasn't the only brief. The finish had to hold up too. One continuous pour, no joints, nothing to lift or sink the way pavers can over a few years of forklifts and delivery vans. From the street it reads tidy on day one and keeps reading that way with cars over it every working day.
No two commercial sites share a design. Have a look at more commercial paving work, then send us your layout and traffic count and we'll draw up one for yours.
